Nuclear Tele

I was looking through the wood pile and thought it's

about time to try another Tele style guitar.  I love Tele's!

This Tele will have my favorite (of course) Seymour Duncan Little 59 in the bridge,

The Seymour Duncan STK-S4 in the middle and the Seymour Duncan SM-1N in the neck.  I want to use

an old style bridge on this one.  I've decided to use the really nice Joe Barden

Tele bridge that has compensated brass saddles.  Should be really cool!

I've also decided to not worry about all the crazy neck heel mods like I

did on my first Tele.  I'm just going to do this one pretty much in the

style of how they're made today.

Here's the wood...

My standard issue high-end maple for the top.

A nice, super light swamp ash 2pc. set for the back.  I'm gluing it up here...

Gluing the bookmatch top together.

Back glue is dry, the basic shape has been cut out and routed.

Top is routed.

All done!  I bought a real American Tele neck and put on it instead of using a Warmoth or something.

It has my favorite Tele pickup selection.  Seymour Duncan Little 59 in the bridge, Seymour Duncan STK-S4 in the

middle and a Seymour Duncan mini humbucker in the neck.  With the combination of swamp ash and the Joe Barden

bridge, she's super light weight and really sounds resonant!  The toggle switches the Little 59 between series and parallel.
